How the calculator works
Risk in dollars is the deposit times the risk per trade. The position is sized so that, if the price reaches the stop, the loss equals exactly that amount: position = risk ÷ distance to the stop, as a share of the entry price.
With several entries each part has its own distance to the stop, and the position is sized so that the losses of all parts add up to the same risk. The average entry is weighted by the coins bought at each price.
Leverage changes neither the position nor the risk — only the margin each entry needs: margin = position ÷ leverage.
Liquidation comes roughly when the price moves 100% ÷ leverage against you, before fees and maintenance margin. If the stop is farther than that, the calculator warns you: the exchange would close the position before the stop.
Risk/reward is the profit if every take-profit is hit, divided by the risk.
Example
Deposit $10,000, risk 1% — that is $100. A long from $60,000 with the stop at $57,000, 5% away, gives a position of $2,000, about 0.0333 BTC. At 5x it needs $400 of margin. A take-profit at $66,000 brings $200: a risk/reward of 2.
